Finished commission for of her 2 forms: wolf and demon Arab horse.. were-formish. The part of her chain belt where the ends meet kept getting fucked up.. but i decided to leave it alone at this point as the reworking of gel/ink/pencil on that spot was deteriorating the paper.. it was boo.
Prang, Prisma, Verithin, gel pens, and microns on cardstock.
i repeat what i said earlier. i WUFF your pics and if i could i'd build you a temple cause damn, you draw so good. i'm only adding this one to my favourites cause if it was by me, i'd add every single piece of your gallery (which would make...... 80% of my favourites once i'm finished ) but i chose this one to drool on, and i'm leaving the rest alone.
umm..... not much to say (actually i do, but i don't wanna get you dazed with useless compliments and will only say the necesary: i began drawing after i saw your pics for the first time. seriously. and that's why i admire your work SOO much)
-tilts head ponderingly- Is there, lyk, some amazing magic trick that you use to get that color quality? XD I mean - pencil crayons leave those irritating white dots on the paper and stuff - but all of your white parts look like - well - I don't know, just wow. XD It's really amazing - it looks like you just faded your pencil crayons to a light shade - but when I do that, I end up leaving such big white spots and then I go crazy over it and end up having no shading at all. @_@ -gestures wordless at picture- All your shaded areas look like they were done with charcoal - smudged to perfection, no ugly white blotches, smooth shadows and highlights. XD; Alksjdfa!!!11!oneone -hugs the picture- ;_;
hm..
i think the main problem you may be having is that you are not using smooth enough paper for one, and the surface youre coloring on may not be the smoothest either.
a readily available kind of smooth paper is just computer/copier paper, its flimsy but.. itll give you nice color results :3 if you want to get really nice paper, i'd go to an office supply store and buy some cardstock. its fairly cheap and is a bit stronger/thicker than copier paper, and -much- cheaper than Bristol board and is also smooth as fuck :3
no smudging/coloring over with white.blending, nothing. just use the pressure of your pencil tip and be careful to leqave the white of the paper showing through for your highlights.
Also, when coloring or drawing or even inking, the smoothest backing you can find is just a stack of like, copier paper a thickish stack like, less than a centimeter will do ya.. also, make sure the backing behind that is flat and strong, like a sketchbook/cardboard/table, etc...
That's all i can really tell ya. no magick or any of that shit, just practice and experimenting with materials.

Nearly all of us, if not every single one of us, have come across a deviation that just has a disappointing '...'. Conversely, some of us have even come across a massive wall of text.
Whether we are the people who ask ourselves, "Is that it?", or whether we are the people who ask ourselves, "What can I say?", this guide will hopefully provide you with some insight in how to go about writing a good description for your deviations, a.k.a. your Artist's (or Author's) Comments.
