I thought her notion of a brindled wolf would be interesting to try... i like the results, but i dont really think the stripes look like a 'brindled' pattern... and i know the stripes were supposed to fade as they got to her paws but.. i guess i was just caught up in striping and filling in gaps and whatnot :/
I still like it though :3 I hope she does too.
that's neat...i wish i could do a trade with you *pouts*. in fact, i did ask a long time ago, but you were busy or somesing. up for it now?
about the art (that's what these comments are SPOST to be for, anyways) i love the stripes, they look real, like real fur. a lot of artists will just add blotches and give it fur texture but you really capture that...um...FUR-ness about it, i dunno how to describe what i'm trying to say but in the end this rocks.
i also LOVE its neck for some reason, i dunno why. i don't really like the paws, but that's just me.

Brindle is very interesting, hm? To make a brindle pattern on a short-haired dog is relatively easy. But on an animal with longer hair is a little more tricky. To color brindle on a short-hair dog, you get a base color...lets say a brown for example...(like Sally) and once you've done and shaded the base color you take a darker brown (or what ever color you're going to use) and make tiny sketchy lines in the direction of the fur. You can have a very mottled brindle or a very tiger-like brindle, depending on the width, length, and number of the patches. Then after you've done the dark brown patches, go over with black. However, do not blacken the highlights.
Now, doing this on a longer-haired animal is a bit tricky. You would do the same thing as above, only you'd have lot more highlights and shadows to do, considering the fur is more texturized that a short-haired breed like a pit bull. A Brindle Akita is good reference for a longer haired dog. The actual concept intrigues me, having brindle on a wolf, I must try that some time.
*is out of breath* ...and that is my recipe for brindle.
