Satyr.. i really dont like how his cup scanned x.o Gold and regular gouache with Prismacolor details on Bristol. My favorite parts are the grapes and his hooves.. his expression isnt quite right and his torso should've been bigger.. and the background just generally blows IMO :D

Description, written by me, edited by one of my professors:
"Satyrs live in the deepest forest and most remote wilderness throughout Italy and Greece. Thus also known as sylvans, these demigods are the offspring of nymphs and goats. Satyrs are the followers of Bacchus, partaking in drink and the company of Maenads, the mad women. These near-men also attend Pan, horned god of the field and wood. This variety of Satyr is learned in the playing of pipes and flutes. All Satyrs are quick to turn violent and lecherous when wine is involved, particularly at Bacchanals. The ancient people of the Mediterranean once worshipped these beasts as spirits of the harvest and sacrificed the first of the crop and lambs to them. Because of their lewd ways, Christians later considered them the likeness of the devil. "

oh yeah, if it wasn't obvious, i have no idea how to make grape-leaves or trees/shrubbery :P

Son, you got a pantie on your head.

You did very well rendering the hair and all the textures. I'm certain the gold would be a very nice accent to the piece when seen in real life. The grapes look very realistic too.

You did fine for not knowing how to draw grape leaves. :3

Isn't it funny how the word 'politics' is made up of the words 'poli' meaning 'many' in Latin, and 'tics' as in 'bloodsucking creatures’?

:bulletblue: Come by an take a look at my DA page. :)

A SHUBBERY! NEE! Sorry for geeking out there for a minute. Love what you have done here. I'm an big fan of the classic myths but I hate to seem them like they were just pieced together from the seperate creature parts. You have done a fine job of making all the elements flow together and look like they belong. I especially dig the job on his horns and head hair.

shaddap woman. Your scenery blows my scenery's balls. And no, I have no idea how tree anatomy works, either. Just draw leaves n sticks. Sticks n leaves.
